Tasks/Assignments for intern: • Direct Practice: o Assist in working with patient’s parents and families providing parent psychoeducation, family support, resource navigation during regular sessions Provide individual therapy to clinic patients o Assist with case management needs of patients and their families, including assessing needs and connecting patients and families to needed resources in the community o Co-facilitate social skills groups with patients served by the clinic • Macro Practice: o Assist with ongoing program development of social skills group, including research, curriculum development and planning o Assist with developing and implementing trainings to community partners related to best practices in working with individuals with IDD o Assist with community outreach related to organizations that provide supports to individuals with IDD, including systems-level networking and resource development
Ideal student description: Graduate student who has an interest in working with diverse neurotypes, specifically those who are autistic and/or have intellectual disabilities.
