Tasks/Assignments for intern: The following are tasks inside our safe homes, and opportunities outside the home. We will remain flexible with your interns. 1. Assist with intake procedures for new survivors, including paperwork and needs assessments. 2. Coordinate case management services, such as scheduling appointments and connecting survivors with resources. 3. Provide emotional support and mentoring to survivors, helping them navigate their recovery journey. 4. Help plan and facilitate group activities or workshops aimed at skill-building and empowerment. 5. Collaborate with the agency's team to ensure a safe and supportive environment for survivors. ALSO 1. Conduct outreach efforts to raise awareness about human trafficking and available resources. 2. Assist with community events or presentations to educate the public about the issue. 3. Engage in advocacy efforts to support anti-trafficking legislation and policies. 4. Establish partnerships with local organizations to expand the network of support for survivors. 5. Participate in training sessions or conferences to enhance their knowledge and skills in combating trafficking.
Ideal student description: An ideal intern for this role would be empathetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about social justice. They should possess strong communication skills to effectively engage with survivors and coordinate with a teamwork mindset. Additionally, they should be resourceful in finding solutions to complex problems and able to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. A background in social work, psychology, or a related field would be beneficial, along åwith a commitment to learning and contributing to fighting to need human trafficking.
