Other Functions:
Tasks/Assignments for intern: Intake assessment and regular therapy appointments with a caseload of college students. Referral to both on and off campus resources as necessary. Documentation review and planning for academic accommodations through disability services. Participate in team meetings and case staffings to collaborate on complex cases. Community education and advocacy on campus to promote mental health/Counseling Center and Disability Services initiatives.
Ideal student description: Someone who is interested in doing therapy and has some prior related experience through their last field placement. Experience with mental health related crisis situations is a plus. We would like a student who is able to work independently, takes initiative and is flexible. There will be opportunities for the student to interface with the college community and do presentations on mental health and related topics, so someone who has an interest in developing creative material for presentations would be helpful.
