Other Functions:
Tasks/Assignments for intern: *Completing Intakes which includes gathering client history and making diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
*Developing treatment plans.
*Providing individual and/or family therapy as appropriate.
*Increase knowledge and understanding of Evidenced based practices for treating individuals with anxiety, depression, ADHD, ODD, Mood Disorders, Autism, Adjustment disorders, PTSD, and others.
*Participating in staff meetings.
*Collaborating with stakeholders (schools, DSS, Juvenile Justice) to address treatment goals.
*Make referrals to community agencies as appropriate.
*Assist Clinical Director with community outreach projects as appropriate.
Ideal student description: An individual interested in providing office based individual and family therapy sessions with children, adolescents, and adults. Student needs to be able to work independently, feel comfortable asking questions, be able to establish rapport with clients, families, community agency representatives, and co-workers. Student must be professional and have a good understanding of code of ethics. Writing skills and familiarity with computers are a must. Student must be receptive to and able to handle constructive feedback.
