Tasks/Assignments for intern: observe a diverse array of counseling sessions (individual, family, and couples therapy), under the guidance of their supervisor, comprehensive training in the precise documentation of clinical progress notes, assigning a diagnosis, the development of treatment plans, the development of their own professional disclosure statement, and effective case management techniques. They will be exposed to a variety of different models and approaches used by staff with a very diverse set of specialties. Once their supervisor feels the student is ready to see clients on their own, they will be afforded that opportunity. Opportunities for group therapy, possibly co-facilitation responsibilities when suitable opportunities arise. Involvement in monthly departmental meetings will provide them with valuable exposure to organizational dynamics and interdisciplinary collaboration.
