Other Functions: Student Coordinator (undergrads) supervision. Student organization support and leadership development. Both of these are shared responsibilities.
Tasks/Assignments for intern: 1) Administrative/Logistical support (item procurement, marketing/social media, library cataloguing, interviewing/search committee, email management, faculty/staff engagement, Center management (opening/closing, providing student support/guidance), attending team meetings/active participant)
2) Program/Event Planning (leading current programs/events, creating or editing programs/events, planning committee representation, marketing, student engagement, providing educational workshops and public speaking)
3) Student Coordinator Supervision-shared responsibility with Assistant Director (1:1 meetings, student team meetings, supporting student development and assigning tasks & monitoring task completion)
4) Student Organization support-shared responsibility with Assistant Director (student and leadership development, meeting management, 1:1 and group facilitation)
Ideal student description: A student that has had some previous experience and/or passion for working with historically marginalized populations. Has understanding and knowledge of social justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and wellbeing work. Interested in student development and student leadership education. Enjoys presenting and creating educational/social programs. Also leans into giving presentations, and creating assessments to enhance program participation among other outcomes. Has knowledge and interested in creating marketing materials and/or social media promotion. Enjoys working with the LGBTQ+ student population and supporting their growth from a holistic lens, rooted in care and compassion.
