Tasks/Assignments for intern: Macro tasks can include fundraising, large community education events planning, communications; governmental agency collaboration via meeting and workgroup attendance; program development and administration; public policy efforts; opportunities to prepare for and attend board meetings and other stakeholder meetings as well as understanding and assessing impact; developing and providing internal and external trainings pertaining to SME areas (autism, mental health); assistance with data collection and analysis around agency quality efforts; and others. Micro opportunities include direct practice with clients and families through outpatient therapy sessions, family collaboration sessions with families seeking support from the agency from social worker or Autism Resource Specialists, families and individuals engaged in Care Management service, individuals and families supported by billable and non-billable services through Services department, and individuals receiving LifeLong Interventions (ABA) program. Some of the work will involve assisting clinical supervisor who supports the agency with ethical dilemmas as well as urgent and rising needs that may become crises. Specific internship can be a blend of micro and macro tasks based upon the specific learning needs and preferences of the student.
