Other Fields of Practice: The program serves families in dispute over custody and parenting issues. At this point, the placement focuses specifically on a domestic violence screening protocol pilot project.

Other Functions:
Tasks/Assignments for intern: The intern will search multiple data bases for specific DV threshold markers, enter and analyze data, communicate with team members, interview parties with DV threshold markers, assess appropriateness for mediation, make referrals, empower clients with options, support and educate clients, help orient at-risk parties to the mediation process, participate in team meetings.
Ideal student description: The ideal intern is interested in the intersection of micro and macro social work, is not averse to data searches and data entry, has a strong interest in assessing data for trends, has a strong interest in supporting clients who have survived intimate partner violence, wants practice engaging with clients for brief but powerful conversations, is interested in the justice system and helping clients in crisis navigate this system.
