Other Functions:
Tasks/Assignments for intern: Student will be assigned shelter guests to do case management with, supported by supervision and daily team meetings. With this they may assist with any thing from food stamp applications to job applications to anything else that will help with housing readiness. That is the bulk of what the intern will do but there may be special projects also assigned by the director of the shelter.
Ideal student description: The ideal student is self-directed and able to work independently, but also open to input regarding best practices. It should be someone who has the ability to develop firm but not rigid boundaries, or who is willing to develop this skill. The ideal candidate should be ok with changes in the work environment and clients, however they will get the chance to follow some guests long term.
