Other Functions:
Tasks/Assignments for intern: Interns work closely with their LCSW supervisor and the rest of the clinical and residential teams. They are involved in individual, family, and group therapy sessions, as well as treatment and discharge planning. They attend clinical and unit meetings and journal/book talks as available.
Ideal student description: Our ideal student would:
-be interested in doing individual, group, and family work with adolescents in residential or hospital settings
-be comfortable working with adolescents with histories of trauma who sometimes become confrontational and/or aggressive, especially when emotionally dysregulated
-show generally good judgment and healthy boundaries so as to be viewed as a positive member of the interdisciplinary team
-have strong verbal and written communication skills
-are reliable and motivated
