Tasks/Assignments for intern: Support daily operations and client services 1. Intake and assessment for general client enrollment and additional client enrollment from the DSS waiting list as a result of additional funding a. Monitor and track incoming enrollment methods i.e. phone, email, online application b. Enroll clients over the phone c. Set up program services in client management software 2. Facilitate bi annual assessment for Non-HCCBG clients, approx. 180 clients a. Conduct assessment over phone with clients 3. Address client needs by phone 4. Oversee 1 or more of MOWD auxiliary service programs 5. Manage incoming waitlist applications a. Submit applications to DSS on the 1st and 30th b. Manage internal waitlist document, update monthly with DSS removals/additions 6. Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of annual client survey 7. 2xs week, transfer data from Weekly Wellness Calls document to client management software a. Prepare and submit reports for client updates, meal preferences and quality control issues 8. Assist with coordinating client deliveries currently on Mondays, Tuesdays and every third Thursday of the month. a. Planning Tuesday delivery routes. b. Adjusting client delivery days as requested c. On site facility prep for delivery days 9. Assist volunteers with loading up vehicles on delivery days. 10. Identify additional food resources in Durham County and assist clients in connecting with appropriate resources. 11. Assist with data collection and reporting as needed 12. Make deliveries to clients as needed
Ideal student description: MOWD is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter with a strong desire to help others. The ideal candidate must have strong communication skills, attention to detail, ability to stay organized, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment. This position will be responsible for working directly with clients in need of food assistance and implementing MOWD’s policies. We are looking for someone who is warm, compassionate, empathic, and can address client concerns and program policy issues in a fair and consistent manner. We are a small staff; the ideal candidate must be a team player.
