Tasks/Assignments for intern: Wake County's Housing Department is improving and advancing the continuum of affordable housing from homelessness to permanent housing to affordable housing development. The MSW Intern will serve on the Research and Data Analytics team, lead by the Strategic Advisor for Data who will also serve as their Field Supervisor. The intern will work alongside the Strategic Advisor to perform program evaluation across the department; clean, transform and analyze data; research emerging and best practice, create recommendations on how to operationalize those best practices. Our intern will learn how to use the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), which is a nationally utilized and federally required database for homeless service provider, powerful data visualization platforms like PowerBI and ArcGIS, and other transferable tools. Our intern will also represent the Department in community meetings, stakeholder groups, and committees.
