Tasks/Assignments for intern: Tasks will vary from placement to placement based on the needs of The Child’s Advocate (“TCA”) and interests and abilities of each intern. For all interns some amount of case management, participation in case review, and resource development will be expected. Additional tasks may include: assisting with client and collateral interviews; reviewing and interpreting records such as mental health, medical, school, etc.; assisting in the development and presentation of training materials; assist in the formulation and implementation of case strategy. TCA is also interested in collaborating with interns to meet interns’ individual learning objectives. Interns with a particular interest or goal should coordinate with TCA prior to placement.
Ideal student description: The Child’s Advocate (“TCA”) is offering a placement for one social work student in a non-traditional legal services setting.
