Tasks/Assignments for intern: The intern would assist with intake of families into our foster care adoption program, where they can utilize their interviewing skills during the home study process. They will participate with inservice training class where they will learn the agency models as well as expectations and background of foster care. They will assist with case management, carrying 2-3 of their own cases and completing home visits to those families. They will also be expected to keep track of documentation and upload documents onto our online filing system, as well as perform quarterly visits to families who do not have a child placement. They will also learn the legal process of adoption and assist in documentation during that stage of the process as well. They will attend monthly team meetings in Salisbury, NC as well as biweekly team meetings at the office location in Raleigh, NC.
Ideal student description: The ideal student for our program would be a student who is motivated, a quick learner, flexible schedule, and can work well independently with instruction.
