Tasks/Assignments for intern: The Parenting PATH offers a variety of services to families in an effort to treat and prevent child maltreatment. Many of the intervention services are offered in the home. Strengthen based services are delivered to families with infants, school age children, and teens using an evidence based curriculum. Treatment goals include the five protective factors (parental resilience, concrete support, social and emotional competence, parenting skills and child development, and social connections). Depending on the program area, the student may work with an individual, a family, or several individuals through groups. This will include conducting screens, completing diagnostic assessments, establishing goals and reviewing outcomes. There will be an opportunity for students to participate in staff meetings, community partner meetings, and attend various trainings. Student will also have the opportunity to educate the community on issues related to child maltreatment.
