Tasks/Assignments for intern: Circles Intern Summer: Work closely with CoS Program Coordinator, the internship includes a variety of outreach, marketing, and operational tasks.
Circles Case management intern: attend/facilitate match meetings, assessments, documentation, referrals, maintain regular contact with circle families/partners, crisis intervention, data entry.
Aftercare case management intern- work closely with Aftercare FSC to provide case management services and support to formerly homeless families as they maintain permanent housing; assessments, documentation, referrals, crisis intervention, data entry, home visits.
In shelter case management: similar to other case management positions.
Residential Services Support intern: work primarily with coverage staff, support FSCs (case managers), volunteers and programming staff.
Ideal student description: A quick learner with a positive attitude and pro-active approach is ideally suited to these positions. working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, databases; organizational skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills (orally and in writing), ability to work independently and with others in a sometimes high stress environment; ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively; knowledge of community resources and counseling/social work practices with high risk populations; nonjudgmental, clear sense of boundaries; strong sense of and respect for confidentiality involving both clients and fellow employees. Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and provide own transportation; sensitivity to different faith communities
