Tasks/Assignments for intern: Internship Purpose: Intern will implement the social services area of the Family Services Child Development Head Start Program. The Intern will work with another Family Advocate, working with parents in the implementation of the program, case management inclusive of the whole child, and communication with all staff. Intern will deliver services by planning, developing, implementing current social service programs according to federal, state, mandates with supervision. Promotes a positive image of the Agency by ensuring and understanding of program services available, training of parents and volunteers, publicizing activities and accomplishment and conducting oneself according to a professional code of ethics. Participates in coordination and integration with other Agency services. Provides crisis intervention; coordinates activities with other service agencies and provides information and referral requests. Develops Family Partnership Agreements with families according to their needs and strengths. Maintain records, such as attendance, children's files, and referrals, necessary for programming and accountabilities as required by federal, state, local mandates. Demonstrates an ability to work independently and execute responsibilities with little or no supervision as part of an agency-wide team. Attends Agency-sponsored parent meetings, training, and staff development. Performs such other duties as incumbent upon the internship and as assigned. Serves as an intern-advocate for the Head Start Program.
